Panama soccer team faces South American test

Two teams that qualified for the last FIFA World Cup will face each other this Sunday in a preparation match for the upcoming qualifying rounds to Qatar.

The senior team of Panama faces the Peruvian team this Sunday, in a friendly match at the National Stadium in Lima.

The match, to be played without an audience due to the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) from 4:00 pm, faces two teams that are located in playoff positions in their respective classification zones.

Thomas Christiansen, coach of the Panamanian eleventh, already announced in the preview that beyond his priority going through the Octagonal Final matches, he will seek to use the friendly to continue seeing new players.

The national team, installed in Lima since Friday, trained yesterday with the entire group after the arrival of midfielder Alberto Quintero, the last player to join the concentration.

And under a pleasant temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, those led by Christiansen carried out the field reconnaissance yesterday at the National Stadium by training for an hour from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Both teams are preparing to play away in their next qualifying match, with Panama Mayor visiting Costa Rica on January 27, while Peru will have to travel to Barranquilla to face Colombia on January 28, in two important matches in the road to the Qatar 2022 World Cup.
