Panama will host FIEXPO Latin America for the next three years


For three consecutive years, Panama will be the host country of FIEXPO, the most important regional fair for the Meetings, Events and Incentives industry. The announcement, which was made in Cartagena during the 2021 edition of this fair, responds to the strategy implemented by PROMTUR Panama that seeks to attract to the country, through its Incentive Plan, the main international events.

After the opening of the massive activities in different countries of the region, “the industry of the tourism of meetings, comes alive again. Proof of this is the restart of fairs, congresses and exhibitions, a segment where Panama has great interest and great attributes that, through PROMTUR Panama’s Incentive Plan, seeks to attract the attention of international organizations, in order to become the first option for the development of this type of activities ”, pointed out Fernando Fondevila, general director of PROMTUR from Panama.

FIEXPO Latin America is a business, training and networking event, which provides a platform for managers of professional associations, incentive agencies and corporate event organizers to hold business meetings with destinations and tourism providers throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. This event also represents a forum by choice so that buyers and suppliers can make important alliances, agreements and shape events in the meetings industry.

This segment of tourism – events and meetings – is very important for the country, since the economic income is $ 645.00, a daily expense three times higher than that generated by the average daily expenditure of the holiday tourist, according to the International Association of Congresses and Conventions (Icca, for its acronym in English[es)[es)

As a result of this fair PROMTUR Panama completed 8 business opportunities for the country with an average economic impact of $ 2 million. Meanwhile, the Panamanian suppliers that participated during the fair event, generated 220 appointments in 2 days, allowing to strengthen commercial ties with international buyers.

Additionally, the stand in Panama was awarded as the “Best Ecological Stand 2021”, an award given to the exhibitor that is aligned with the sustainability of the components used such as unprocessed materials, LED lighting and digitization of institutional information.

After to FIEXPO Cartagena, Between November 16 and 19, PROMTUR Panama will hold the FIEXPO Workshop & Technical Visit in Panama City. In this space, it will provide the opportunity for a group of 30 invited buyers, representatives of professional associations, corporate meeting planners and incentives to contact and meet with Panamanian executives and tourism providers, generating business opportunities.
