A total of 27 dancers from different academies and ballet companies will represent Panama in various categories within the Miami International Ballet Competition (MIBC) that returns in its fifth edition and that will have as its stage andl Julius Littman Theater in North Miami Beach, Florida, United States.
The meeting that takes place from January 19 to 23 will bring together a total of 177 participants, between 9 and 24 years of age, from Mexico, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Singapore, Peru, Argentina, United States and Panama.
The dancers will show the best of their abilities in this competition while strengthening friendship ties and obtaining new opportunities to continue developing their talents and/or professional training.
In this regard, the dancer Juliet of the Castle, from the National Ballet said “feeling proud and excited to be able to represent Panama, along with Yahir Castro who will be my partner in this highly prestigious international competition.”
Regarding his choice, del Castillo indicated that his selection was made through auditions held by the organizers of the international competition to dancers from various dance academies where they could see their scenic quality and invite them to participate in the international competition.
Panamanian dancers will be on stage performing the no two, Wednesday 19, Friday 21 and Sunday 22 January.
For this year, the organizers decided to allow the public in person to appreciate all the rounds of the competition, including the celebration for free, complying with biosecurity measures with the aim of maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all contestants and the public. attendee.
The Panamanian delegation will be made up of dancers from the Steps Dance Academy, Ballet Academy By Maruja Herrera, Conservatory of Dance of Panama, ScalaDancers, Studio Coppelia, and Julieta del Castillo of the National Ballet of Panama.
