The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, has stated, in Zaragoza, that the candidacy for the 2030 Winter Olympics in the Pyrenees is a project “of a country, of a State”, in which Aragon and Catalonia are directly involved “on an equal footing”.

This has been indicated in an institutional statement made in the Pignatelli Building, headquarters of the Government of Aragon, after meeting to discuss this candidacy with the president of the Aragonese community, Javier Lambán.

Also present at the meeting were the Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, and the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee, Alejandro Blanco.

“We are facing a very hopeful project” and of a sporting nature, in which the values ​​of “team spirit, improvement, opening horizons and working together” will be reflected, Sánchez stressed.
