The President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, visits this Monday, August 22, the areas affected by the Bejís fire in Castellón.
The Chief Executive, accompanied by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande Marlaska; the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig, and the delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, will visit the Advanced Command Post, located in the Jérica Fire Station, in Castellón, where they will hold a meeting with those responsible for the operation and with mayors of municipalities affected by the fires in the area.
Next, Sánchez will recognize the fire extinction work on the ground and, at the end of the visit, will offer a statement to the media.
The fire has burned an area of 19,000 hectares and has affected a radius of 140 kilometers, becoming the largest fire in the last decade in the Valencian Community. It is currently in the stabilization phase and the Valencian Government has authorized this Sunday the return to their cases of the residents who remained evacuated, mainly from the towns of Teresa and Sacañet.
