The president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has appeared this Friday with the Government as a whole to assess the arrest of former president Carles Puigdemont in Italy. “These facts do not help anything to resolve the political conflict and build trust between the parties,” said the independence leader. “The priority is to end the repression,” he assured. The head of the Government has also accused Spain of having “deceived” the Court of Justice of the European Union, which in his opinion discredits the Spanish Justice.
Aragonès has also announced that this Friday he will travel with Vice President Jordi Puigneró to Sardinia, where Puigdemont is being held, as a show of support for the former president. “We demand the immediate release of Puigdemont,” he reiterated, “it is a very serious situation.”
