The State of Pernambuco may be the first in Brazil to place Blockchain teaching in the youth curriculum.
Blockchain is a technology that provides security in data storage over the internet, making them transparent, immutable and fully secure, guaranteed by encryption.
It is worth remembering that the blockchain gained notable prominence around the world after its application in Bitcoin, the largest digital currency ever created on the internet, and today it is considered a value reserve system and a means of payment by many people.
In an environment of innovation, this has been increasingly used around the world by companies and governments, who seek to advance solutions that are increasingly present in a digital environment.
Pernambuco will be able to teach blockchain to young people in schools soon
In Pernambuco, the State Education Plan – PEE, was approved by the Lei n.º 15.533, of June 23, 2015, valid for 10 years.
Among the guidelines of the PEE, there is the eradication of illiteracy, improving the quality of education, humanistic and scientific promotion of students, among others equally important.
At each period stipulated by law, there must be reviews on the progress of the legislation, monitoring its implementation in practice.
But recently, the Constitution, Legislation and Justice Commission of the Pernambuco State Assembly proposed a replacement for a 2020 bill, with the proposal to include technologies for the post-pandemic world in state education.
Last Friday (19), then, it was published in the Official Gazette of Pernambuco that the Permanent Commission that was evaluating the request to include blockchain teaching in the state plan was approved.
“The proposal under consideration aims to add to Law No. 15,533/2015, which approves the State Education Plan – PEE, educational guidelines aimed at the post-pandemic period of covid-19, a disease that, despite the great negative impact, brought about maturation and new experiences for the school community.
As the justification attached to the project, the proposed innovation seeks to prepare students for the market of the future, where platforms, media and digital devices such as Robotics, BlockChain, Virtual and Augmented Realities, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence, among others, will be increasingly used“.
After reading the matter, the reporter Priscila Krause agreed with the project’s approval by the Science, Technology and Informatics Commission. Three other state deputies voted in favor of this inclusion, being Professor Paulo Dutra, Fabíola Cabral and Teresa Leitão.
With the assent, the project will now be processed within ALEPE until its final approval, which could place Pernambuco as the first Brazilian state to offer blockchain teaching in the public school system.
It is worth remembering that the state of Pernambuco has recently shown studies on a vaccination passport with blockchain technology, showing that it is already seeking to apply the technology in its education network.
