PlayStation shows Gran Turismo 7, the pinnacle of the series | Digital Trends Spanish

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) held its first State of Play stream of 2022 dedicated to Grand Touring 7 and in which new details of the video game that will arrive on the PlayStation 5 (PS5) on March 4 were revealed.

Kazunori Yamauchi, director of the Polyphony Digital studio (behind the series Grand Touring) and professional driver, led the presentation detailing aspects ranging from game modes, such as the Gran Turismo Café —a pompous way of showcasing the game’s campaign in which players must compete to unlock and purchase some of the the 400 cars that can race on the 34 circuits included in the game—even more technical aspects.

Despite the striking of the game modes, the most interesting thing about the presentation was the way in which the technical characteristics of Grand Touring 7 and that are possible thanks to the functions of the PS5 console. For example, some minutes of the presentation were dedicated exclusively to show the natural sound (nat sound) of the game in different types of competitions. With that presentation, Polyphony Digital showed off the 3D Audio feature of the PlayStation 5.

Another of the technical demonstrations was linked to the “Haptic feedback” function of the DualSense control which, according to the study, is adapted so that players feel the vibrations of the car’s tires as if they were driving a real car.

Another novelty is the inclusion of a mode called “Museum”, in which relevant aspects of the history of a car or a particular manufacturer are narrated (SIE showed a fragment where the history of Porsche is discussed). If you have played the series Forza Motorsport on Xbox, then think of it as Forza Vista mode.

The video game Gran Turismo 7 will arrive on March 4 for the PlayStation 5.

Regarding the graphic section, Yamauchi described Grand Touring 7 as “the pinnacle of the series” and recalled that the game will sport 4K graphics at 60 frames per second. The producer highlighted other aspects that add to the photorealism of the game, such as dynamic weather that will make clouds look similar to those of the real sky depending on their location. For example, a track in California such as Laguna Seca will have clouds similar to those of the real weather in that territory of the United States.
