Sony finally announced that Playstation VR2 it will launch on February 22, 2023. It will cost noticeably more than its predecessor, with base models selling for $550.
In a PlayStation post BlogSony confirmed that pre-orders for the VR headset in North America will begin on November 15 on the website of PlayStation Direct. Players will have the option to purchase the base version for $550, a bundle with Horizon Call of the Mountain for $600 and a $50 charging station for PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.
First announced in February 2021, Sony has slowly rolled out details about its next-gen VR headset and revealed a few games for it. However, information such as the release date and price remained a mystery until today. Now, not only do we know when to expect the title and how much it will cost, but we’ve learned about even more games coming to PlayStation VR2.
A separate post from playstation blog announced new games and ports coming to the platforms. These include Dark Pictures: Switchback VR by Supermassive Game,Crossfire: Sierra Squad by Smilgate,The Light Brigade by Funktronic Labs,Cities VR – Enhanced Edition by Fast Travel Games,Cosmonious High by Owlchemy Labs,Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue by tinyBuild Games,Jurassic World Aftermath Collectionby Coatsink,Pistol whip VR by Cloudhead Games, Zenith: The Last Cityby ramen VR, After the Fallfrom Vertigo Games andtentacular by Firepunchd Games.
Specific release dates for those games were not shared, but considering thatTentacular, Zenith: The Last City, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, Cosmonious High, Cities VR YThe Light Brigadewill be available for pre-order starting November 15, those games will likely come out around the launch of PlayStation VR2.
The PlayStation VR2 will launch on February 22, 2023.
