Qatar 2022: Opta predicts the champion and the chances of each team | Digital Trends Spanish

Opta is a British sports analysis company. Its business consists of generating data for 30 sports in 70 countries, with clients ranging from leagues to broadcasters and betting websites. With that resume he has just launched his prediction for the Qatar World Cup 2022.

Using Stats Perform’s artificial intelligence World Cup prediction model, the South Americans have emerged as favorites to lift the trophy for the sixth time.

To get a more complete picture of who will win the 2022 World Cup, the prediction model estimates the probability of each match outcome (win, draw or lose) using betting market odds and Stats Perform team rankings.

At this level, Brazil and Argentina have the greatest opportunities.

Brazil emerges with the highest probability of winning. The five-time winners, who are the absolute favorites to win, have a 16% chance of lifting the trophy based on the model, and as overall favorites for the tournament, they are also the team with the highest probability of reaching the final (25 %).

Just behind five-time winners Brazil, is Argentina who has the second highest probability of winning the World Cup this year. Lionel Scaloni’s team, which is the favorite in Group C, has a 13% chance of taking the trophy this year.

Rounding out the top five contenders in the 2022 World Cup are France (12%), Spain (9%) e England (9%).
