Qatar 2022 will feature the fastest ball in the World Cups | Digital Trends Spanish

Soccer fans are already starting to get excited about the World Cup in Qatar. This Friday, April 1, the draw will be held with the teams that will participate in the event and today we have known which will be the official ball with which the matches will be played.

This is Al Rihla, manufactured by Adidas and inspired by the culture, architecture and the emblematic boats of Qatar. It will also have another relevant aspect, since according to the German company, the new ball “moves through the air faster than any other ball in the history of the tournament”.

Adidas also assures that it is a much more accurate and precise ball than other versions, which should contribute to improving the spectacle on the different fields of the World Cup.

“Thoroughly designed based on data collection and rigorous testing carried out in Adidas laboratories, in wind tunnels and on the pitch – where it has also been put to the test by footballers themselves – the Al Rihla offers optimum degrees of precision and reliability in the field, due in part to the novel shape of its panels and the new textures of the surface, ”explains the company in a statement.

Those in charge of presenting this new ball will be former soccer players Iker Casillas, Kaká, Farah Jefry and Nouf Al Anzi. Then, Al Rihla will start a kind of tour and will travel through ten cities around the world, including Dubai, Tokyo, Mexico City and New York.

“Football is getting faster and faster, and as speeds increase, precision and stability in the air become extremely important,” says Franziska Löffelmann, director of football design, graphics and equipment at Adidas.
