Ram updates its ProMaster van again for 2023 | Digital Trends Spanish

For the second year in a row, Ram substantially revamps its Ram ProMaster lineup of full-size work vans. Unlike the changes introduced in 2022, which were mostly technological, those for 2023 are largely cosmetic, complemented by a few other options and a new body style.

Judging the beauty of a work van is not an easy task, since they are vehicles made to satisfy practical and not aesthetic needs, so it is likely that most of those who read these lines do not remember the appearance of the model that it replaces. . Still, Ram made a noticeable improvement to the ProMaster’s front-end appearance by swapping out the headlamps for units that not only look better, but are 29 percent brighter and provide 15 percent more range.

Ram also offers optional LED units that are 70 percent brighter and have 50 percent more range than previous units.

The change in the front view of the ProMaster goes beyond the design of the headlights. The new grille has a more contemporary look and a new modular bumper has been incorporated with integrated steps, which will come in handy when cleaning the windshield on a long drive and will also make it easier to change the wiper blades.

Continuing with the changes in appearance, the ProMaster line gains two colors, Ceramic Gray and Spitfire Orange. Ram also offers optional new silver and black wheels and a new Black Appearance Package, which includes black wheels, grille and exterior badging.

For 2023, the ProMaster lineup offers a third roof height, which is higher than the highest option available today. This new one will only be available in a 13-foot cargo version and, according to the manufacturer, “adds 10 more inches of headroom compared to the next higher configuration. It also offers best-in-class cargo volume and cargo height.”. Likewise, hehe new 2023 Ram ProMaster offers a segment-exclusive roll-up tailgate, which is constructed of aluminum to optimize weight and durability.

ram improved the Ram ProMaster with various safety systems like a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. This year there will not be a significant number of technological improvements, but the addition of the parking assistance function is notable, to help the driver execute maneuvers both parallel and perpendicular, something very necessary in this type of truck with restricted visibility.

Like the 2022 model, the 2023 ProMaster is offered front-wheel drive only, with a 3.6-liter displacement V6 making 276 horsepower and 250 pound-feet of torque, mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. Its maximum towing capacity continues at 6,910 pounds and its payload rating remains at 4,680 pounds.

The 2023 Ram ProMaster will be available beginning in the third quarter of 2022. Ram made no announcement regarding the price of the new model.
