Samsung renews its family A with the new Galaxy A53 and A33 | Digital Trends Spanish

Last month Samsung renewed its high-end line with the Samsung Galaxy S22, but the manufacturer does not forget its mid-range, one of the ones that has given it the most joy for years.

The South Koreans have announced today, March 17, two new members of the Galaxy A family, two devices that replace the Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A32 5G that we met in 2021.

Both phones are clearly focused on the younger audience, since among other things, Samsung has added a function in the camera application with which Snapchat filters are automatically added to our photos.

Similar in design, but with some notable differences, we are going to see what the new Samsung Galaxy A53 5G and Galaxy A33 5G are like.

Durable design and feature-rich cameras

On the outside and especially behind, both phones are practically identical. Its dimensions are similar, although the A53 has a 6.5-inch FHD + Super AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a hole to house the front camera.

In the case of the A33, the screen has the same specifications, but a size of 6.4 inches and a U-shaped notch. The frames that surround the screen in this model are also slightly thicker.

Both phones have a back finished in polycarbonate, a resistant and matte material. Its screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass and its resistance to water and dust is IP67 certified.

Regarding the power, Samsung has not revealed the specific model of processor that the devices incorporate, but we know that it is an eight-core one and that in both there are versions of 6 GB + 128 GB memories. The Galaxy A53 has an 8 GB version with 256 GB of internal storage.

The battery is 5,000 mAh in both and they have a 25W super fast charging system, but Samsung does not include the charger in the box. Both phones offer 5G connectivity and have the fingerprint sensor under the screen.

As for the cameras, the configuration is different between them. The Galaxy A33 has a quad camera with a 48 MP main sensor, an 8 MP wide angle, a 5 MP macro sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor.

In the case of the A53 there is also a quad camera with a 64 MP main sensor, a 12 MP wide angle, a 5 MP macro sensor and a 5 MP depth sensor. The front camera in the first model is 13 MP and in the top model it is 32 MP.

Price and availability

The two devices will go on sale in April in four colors, black, orange, white and blue. Their prices depending on the territory in which they are sold are still pending confirmation. We will update this note as soon as we know that information.
