Samsung shows its folding triple screen cell phone | Digital Trends Spanish

Samsung has finally unveiled the long-awaited prototype of a triple screen foldable cell phone that features a double fold – or hinge -.

This model has appeared at the IMID 2021 event (International Meeting for Information Displays, or International Meeting of Information Screens). And it can be seen in action in the video below, although the cell phone is shown all the time with the screens semi-extended, so it is not appreciated how the mechanism to close it operates.

The description of the video says that the screen is multiplegable and that it can be folded both in and out. In addition, no further data or information on the phone’s specifications was provided, since the main thing is in the screen technology that Samsung is preparing.

However, the team looks in a way very similar to what Samsung has recently introduced with its folding. The most recent of them is the Galaxy Z Flip, a team that passed through our hands and that we conclude that it is one of the best folding that has been launched since this technology was introduced.

The existence of this Samsung multiplegable has been known since March 2021, at which time it was said that the South Korean company would present the first model this year. However, it is not clear that this prototype seen at IMID 2021 is going to jump from prototype to commercial product anytime soon.

It is also possible that the folding of Samsung will end up replacing the current line of smartphones Galaxy Note, which have high-end and premium specifications like the Galaxy S, but which are aimed at more productive or professional profiles.

In that segment, a foldable (or multiplexable) from Samsung might make sense, now that the technology seems to have matured.
