High expectation in the fans exists for the imminent premiere this September 2 of the series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. And so much so that Jeff Bezosmaximum owner of Amazon, could not be oblivious to the launch in its avant-premier mode.
On the occasion, the also majority shareholder of the Washington Post, told several anecdotes in relation to this product, the most expensive and ambitious in the streaming era.
“My son is a huge Tolkien fan and after Amazon got involved, he came up to me and looked me in the eye and said, ‘Dad, please don’t fuck this up.'”
Bezos quickly concluded with a quote from Tolkien, proclaiming, “Not all who wander are lost.”
But the Amazon owner also thanked the series’ showrunners for “ignoring me at exactly the right times” when he was giving notes on early scripts.
“Every showrunner’s dream is to get notes on early scripts and cuts from the CEO, they just love that,” he joked. “I want to thank you both for listening every time he helped, but most of all I need to thank you for ignoring me at exactly the right times.”
