In January 2020 the first film was released live action of one of the most iconic characters in the world of video games and it seems that we still have Sonic for a while.
Sega and Paramount Pictures have begun production on the third installment of sonic the movie, a film that broke box office records. It is worth noting that this new film has begun production even before the second installment has been released in theaters.
But that’s not all for Sonic fans, as Paramount Pictures has also started production on a new television series starring Knuckles. In the series, the echidna anthropomorphic red will be voiced by Idris Elba, who will also voice the character in sonic 2 the movie which will premiere on April 1.

The new series will combine digitally animated characters with realistic environments and according to the announcement, it will premiere on April 8, 2023.
While the third film and the series arrive, we will be able to enjoy the next April 1 in all the cinemas of the world of Sonic 2a film in which we will see new characters from the franchise that did not appear in the first film such as Tails, and of course, Knuckles.
The first Sonic movie was released in 2020, before theaters closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film grossed $210 million dollars in its first 10 days in theaters, a figure much higher than that raised by other films based on video game characters, such as Detective Pikachu.
