Real Sociedad vs. Real Betis will be the first game in the Spanish league to be broadcast free, live and vertically via TikTok. The match for the 32nd date of the soccer championship will be broadcast on the channel that the Gol signal has on the social network.
Scheduled for Friday, April 15, 2022, the game can be followed in a 9:16 format from 9:00 pm local time. Located at the top of the table, Basques and Andalusians will look to Anoeta to take a new step towards European competitions.
The initiative stems from a “pioneering agreement” between Gol’s parent company, Mediapro, with LaLiga and TikTok, and “projects the commitment to innovation and adaptation of content to new digital consumption formats.”
According to the parties involved in a Press release, the Spanish thus becomes “the first major European league to offer a match in this format through the video platform”. The game will be commented by Nacho Hernáez and Carla Gabián, regular creators of soccer content on the platform.
“Mediapro will deploy a special device at the Reale Arena in San Sebastian that will have a 4K Mobile Unit and more than 30 professionals working for an exclusive production of the match in vertical format,” the document added.
This “native experience for TikTok” will include the adaptation of all graphics and a customization of the stream designed for mobile devices and new audiences, those involved complemented.
The broadcast on TikTok will begin at 8:30 pm, with warm-up and preview. Fans will have the opportunity to interact with Hernáez and Gabián, as well as participate through live chat, they added.
