Spanish towns will be the setting for House of the Dragon | Digital Trends Spanish

HBO has chosen two Spanish cities as the setting for House of Dragon, the prequel to the popular series game of Thrones.

These are Cáceres and Trujillo, towns where fiction will begin to be recorded from October of this year.

In the case of Cáceres, this will be his second participation in an HBO production, after in 2017 it served as the setting for an episode of Game of Thrones.

Thus, some traditional monuments of this town, such as the Arco de la Estrella or the Plaza de Santa María, came out to the world thanks to the successful series.

Trujillo also appeared in the seventh season, although he had a minor participation.

This news has been highlighted by the Cáceres City Council. The city councilor has confirmed that he has been working with the American production company for two months to coordinate the work and technical needs of the filming.

“Not only is Game of Thrones returning, but Cáceres is going to be a very important setting in this prequel and it will give a lot to talk about,” said the mayor of the city, Luis Salaya.

Of course, this is a major boost for tourism. In fact, many places in both locations are promoted for having appeared in HBO fiction.

In this area the troops of the Lannister and Khalessi fought. 400 extras and a dozen horses were needed in the filming. In addition, actors such as Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau walked the streets of the two Spanish towns.
