Spatial audio comes to Netflix for iPhone and iPad | Digital Trends Spanish

Apple defines spatial audio as a system that can “reproduce sounds anywhere in virtual space, creating an immersive experience.”

The company announced this new feature at WWDC in June 2020 and in November of last year it began to arrive on AirPods Pro.

Now, spatial audio is coming to Netflix, when the application is used from an iPhone or iPad device. While the rollout may take a few days to complete, it would allow users to enjoy series and movies through a much richer and more complete experience.

To enjoy this function, the person must use AirPods Pro or AirPods Max. It is also necessary to reproduce the content in the application, on one of the mentioned mobile devices, since the web version of the service does not yet offer this audio format.

For those who do have these devices, they must go to the Control Center and activate Spatial Audio.

Another thing to be clear about is that not all content will be available to play in this format, since initially there will be series and movies that cannot be enjoyed through spatial audio.

The good news is that in iOS 15, the system offers the possibility to convert any audio into the spatial audio format, which will also be compatible with the Netflix application.

On some platforms such as Reddit, users have already reported their experience testing spatial audio on Netflix, something that should continue to spread in the coming days.
