The Latin public each year follows the Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States with more attention.
The arrival of prominent players, especially Latinos, has helped this competition generate more interest for fans in this region.
The last edition of the tournament has already ended with the New York City FC title, so most teams are preparing for the 2022 season.
For this reason, this period is ideal to meet some of the most outstanding Latin players of the last year and to whom we will have to pay attention for the next version of the competition.

These are some of the ones that shone the most on the MLS courts:
The Colombian defender of the Seattle Sounders was part of the eleven idea of the MLS after an outstanding season. The 29-year-old player who made his professional debut in Tiro Federal de Argentina was even called up for the Colombian National Team by coach Reinaldo Rueda.
The 23-year-old Argentine player arrived in 2018 at New York City FC, current MLS champion. Castellanos had an outstanding year at the monarch, scoring 19 goals and giving 8 assists, which even led him to be praised by Pep Guardiola. For the same reason, it is very likely that he will soon emigrate to a club Europe.
The Peruvian striker arrived in 2018 at the Seattle Sounders from Mexico’s Morelia. In this season he also achieved a brilliant performance, scoring 19 goals which led him to appear in the ideal eleven of the competition. In 2018 he was able to participate in the World Cup in Russia with the Peruvian National Team. His continuity for next year is not yet defined and it is likely that he will emigrate from the Seattle club.
The Argentine player of the New England Revolution was one of the most outstanding forwards of the last season. The 31-year-old attacker scored 15 goals and contributed 8 assists. This was his best season since he arrived in the United States from Tijuana de Mexico in 2019.
The Brazilian midfielder was one of the most important players in the Seattle Sounders and was another of the best Latinos in the tournament, forming part of the MLS ideal eleven. His regularity stands out, since in 31 games played, he scored 3 goals and gave 8 assists.
Joao Paulo is also used to scoring, in fact, this year he scored one of the best of the season, leaving four Columbus Crew rivals on the road after taking the ball from his own field. Many remembered the goal Diego Maradona scored against England in 1986.
One of the most important Mexican strikers in recent years. He came to the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2020 from Sevilla. He previously had an outstanding career in Europe that led him to play for Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and West Ham United. In 2021 he scored 17 goals, showing that he still has a lot of talent (and goals) to deliver.
The Chilean attacker has just scored 11 goals defending the Portland Timbers colors. His good performance this past year allowed him to be called up by Martín Lasarte to play for La Roja. He came to MLS from the Pumas de México. He previously played for Cruz Azul, Audax Italiano and the University of Chile.
According to MLS data, the 28-year-old Venezuelan is the player who sells the most jerseys in the competition. He came to Atlanta United in 2017 from Torino in Italy. This year he scored 12 goals and next season he could defend another MLS team.
The 32-year-old Mexican did not have his best season in the United States and only scored 5 goals. However, he remains one of the favorites of Latino fans and fans of Los Angeles FC where he landed in 2018 from Real Sociedad de España. Although he has offers from various teams in Brazil, everything indicates that he would stay in Los Angeles to star in a new version of the “Los Angeles classic” in front of his compatriot Chicharito Hernández.
The Paraguayan arrived in Austin in 2020 from Guaraní from Paraguay. The left winger had an outstanding career in the America of Mexico where he scored 25 goals. This was his first season in MLS, where he scored 7 goals. However, expectations are higher for next year where he is expected to be one of the Texans’ figures.
