The AVE will link Murcia and Madrid in 2 hours and 45 minutes from next December 20

The Murcia-Madrid AVE will begin commercial service on December 20. Renfe has programmed eight daily services, four in each direction, between the two cities. Tickets go on sale next Wednesday, December 14 and until December 29 there will be a promotion of 30,000 tickets at the price of 19 euros each way to travel until December 2023.

The new AVE service will offer a connection between Madrid and Murcia from 2 hours and 45 minutes, for the four trains, two in each direction, which will start and end at the Madrid Chamartín Clara Campoamor station and intermediate stops in Orihuela and Elche.

The other four AVE services originate and end at the Puerta de Atocha station in Madrid with intermediate stops in Orihuela, Elche, Alicante, Villena, Albacete and Cuenca. Travel time for this tour will be from 3 hours and 25 minutes.

In addition, the four Intercity trains are maintained, two in each direction, between Murcia and Albacete, which, due to the works carried out by Adif, are carried out by road, with a connection with the AVE Albacete-Madrid and the weekend Intercity service between Águilas- Murcia and Madrid.

Renfe adopts a commitment to punctuality on AVE trains, with refunds of 50% of the amount of the ticket for delays between 15 and 30 minutes and 100% for delays of more than 30 minutes.

Renfe will use the S-112 model for the Madrid-Orihuela AVE service, one of the most technologically advanced trains. The train has 12 cars, fully accessible for people with disabilities, will travel at a maximum speed of 300 kilometers per hour and has 353 seats. The seats have folding and footrests, in addition each seat has individual light and folding table.
