“We are all Vinícius, enough is enough”. That is the cry that the Santiago Bernabéu gave this Wednesday before the match against Rayo Vallecano in response to the racist insults against the Real Madrid player, Vinícius Junior. He has done it with a giant banner with the club’s colors and a shirt drawn with the number 20, the one the footballer wears on his back.
The response has been completed with the support of Vinícius’s teammates, starters and substitutes, who have taken to the field wearing the Madrid number 20 shirt. The club itself had announced this Wednesday that the player would be honored under the motto “Today we all wear ’20”.

The footballer has been the target of racist actions on multiple occasions, but this Sunday at Mestalla marked a before and after. In the second part of the match, several fans attacked the player, who did not hesitate to point them out so that his actions would have consequences this time.
And so it was: after several of those responsible were first arrested and then released, at the end of this Tuesday, the Competition Committee reported that it had decided to close the Mario Kempes stand for five games, from which Vinícius was insulted, in addition to to impose a fine of 45,000 euros on Valencia CF. It also invalidated the red card that the Real Madrid player saw. Thus, in this Wednesday’s game, in which Real Madrid plays against Rayo Vallecano, Vinícius could have participated, but in the end he did not due to injury.
In addition to Real Madrid, the clothing and sporting goods company Nike has also wanted to position itself against racist attacks. “Don’t look the other way”, reads a company advertisement in which a photograph of Vinícius Junior appears.
