The best food trucks that roll on the roads of Spain


In recent years, foodtrucks or gastronetas have become fashionable, vans equipped with a kitchen where, in a minimum space, they can cook true delicacies that they would already like in some much larger restaurants.

Some are rented for events, weddings or private celebrations of all kinds. Others are specialized in festivals and concerts, to the delight of the attendees, since eating a sandwich with four slices of chorizo ​​is not the same as eating a quesadilla, a gourmet hamburger or a black pudding lasagna. There are even desserts, for the sweet tooth.

Without further delay, we take a tour of the peninsula in search of those mobile restaurants.

From Madrid to the north

Food truck Street-xo: we already told you here about Goxo, the brand of street food delivery that chef Dabiz Muñoz created in May 2020. Villada Street food truck: it is a gastronomic extension of the Villada black pudding factory, in Palencia, with which they make a version street food of delicious and fun meals such as black pudding croquettes, black pudding lasagna or black pudding arancini (made by the Kuro Sicilian pizzeria).

They also make some impressive meat brioche at low temperature that they make in their facilities, the pulled pork your way or the pastrami sandwich.

The Manoleta It is an Asturian business of gourmet muffins such as roast pork, although it has a lot of more super attractive delicacies such as cachopos, tapas or brioches. Its services can be rented in different formats: the silver caravan, the motocarro or the bike cart, depending on the particularities of each event, access, location, chosen menu or aesthetic affinity with the environment.

From Catalonia with love

Les Nenes Road: she is the gastronet of Celler Les nenes, the most hyperactive place in Canet de Mar (Barcelona). If they organize concerts on their terrace, they go to festivals in the van, and their chefs continue to do it with great art. For pica pica, be sure to try their bravas or the nachos with melted cheese, guacamole, beet sauce and beans.

Or give the pastrami sandwich, pickles, mustard and coleslaw of Lombard; or avocado, bean sprouts, carrot, red cabbage, endive and hummus, as well as soaked with the house mojito.

KomoToLoko: putting a foodtruck inside a garage on a highway arriving in Palafrugell (Girona) is the height of originality, enough space to be able to cook Japanese food and, above all, the best kobe meat in the world at the best price in Spain, at 670 euros per kilo.

You will love it both in fillet and in hamburgers, although the scallops with foie, or other proposals such as the soft cell crab (the crab, come on).

Laufer It has a restaurant and its own workshop that supplies its three food trucks for festivals and concerts. Meats from Cerdanya for their hamburgers, natural ingredients, vegan dishes and, best of all, their lauferin’sthose crispy stuffed cannelloni, for example, with artichoke and tuna.

Heart of Agave from Barcelona is the restaurant’s Mexican food van and namesake taquerias. Nachos, tacos, burritos, quesadillas and all the typical flavors that add a lot of color and spice to festivals and private parties.

From Aragon to the world

Traveling Butchers: This van specializing in meat products has been traveling the peninsula for eight years thanks to the initiative of David Gómez Gometas, who has been in the wholesale meat sector for more than 30 years, based in Zaragoza.

To get closer to retail, that is, us consumers, they decided to take a new branch and take their best cuts and selected pieces through their hamburgers and sausages to gastronomic festivals throughout the Spanish geography.

Food truck Los Olivos: in Torcas de Chodes, near Morata de Jalón (Zaragoza), this meeting point for lovers of the mountains and everything that has to do with nature stands out for its beauty. Although they offer snacks, it is allowed to bring food from outside to enjoy the environment that surrounds them. You can always ask for their soft drinks, beers, coffees, infusions, snacks and ice creams to rest for a while if you go hiking, climbing or other activities.

The Quicara: just saying that their chicken burger is accompanied with cured meat and cured cheese for 30 months has won the award for Best Burger in the Canary Islands. Also in Las Palmas de Gran Canarias we find Argentine customslocated in front of the Atlantic, serving empanadas, choripan and hamburgers such as the Black Patagonia, the Mediterranean, Bondiola burger, pork, Big Messi or Frida Khalo.
