The former mayor of Granada de Ciudadanos supports the socialist Juan Espadas to preside over the Junta de Andalucía

The previous mayor of Granada for Cs, Luis Salvador, has indicated that the general secretary of the PSOE-A, Juan Espadas, is the best candidate to preside over the Junta de Andalucía after the next regional elections, not yet called, considering that a government of PP and Vox would be “totally pernicious” for the autonomous community.

In statements to Europa Press, the former provincial coordinator of Cs, a formation from which he was expelled for supporting the current mayor, the socialist Francisco Cuenca, as alderman of the Granada capital, after the PP broke the agreement that kept him in the mayor’s office in the first half of this municipal mandate, has pointed out that the current uncertainties are “the breeding ground of populism”, which is “also dragging the traditional right”, and in the face of this “the only formula is moderate social democracy”.

In his opinion, Juan Espadas, as a socialist candidate for the presidency of the Board, has the guarantee that he “defeated the past” in the PSOE-A primaries, a party that Salvador was part of before entering Cs, a ” liberal party” whose progressive origins he has defended, and which was nourished by a “moderate vote” that the previous mayor of Seville could now capitalize on.

In this sense, he has said he has known Espadas for a long time and has pointed out that the current leader of the Andalusian Socialists is committed to professional profiles and “values talent”, and represents a way of doing politics “without corruption”.

For this reason, he has sent a message to the 660,000 votes that Cs received in the last regional elections “to ask for that moderation in politics” so that, after the next elections, “the project in Andalusia is moderate” and “sensible” as well as “focused” on the maintenance of rights and freedoms, taking advantage of the community’s potential in areas such as technology or innovation and the commitment to “social tranquility, which is what Juan Espadas can contribute”.

“In politics, the future is the present day,” he indicated when asked about it. “There is a way to go in all this time to ensure that this large volume of votes that Cs had is as informed as possible so that it can decide with absolute freedom” and “does not move to the PP” or “even due to ignorance of what which is Vox inside” to the formation of Santiago Abascal.

It is, in this sense, that “those values that Cs has defended during all these years and that have been positive for Spanish society are reflected in the next Government of the Junta de Andalucía”.

He has considered that the Executive of Juanma Moreno “has been working” but it is not going to be reissued due to the situation of Cs, and that “the only possible government for the PP” will be with Vox, influencing the irruption of a group of people in the City Hall of Lorca (Murcia), with an “assault very similar to that of the Capitol” in Washington (United States) this past Monday.

In Lorca they have been “PP and Vox hand in hand warming up the ranchers”, in events that he considered symbolic that “the right and the extreme right together is a setback” and “the only possible alternative at this time to be able to beat this is the Andalusia of Juan Espadas”, indicated the former mayor of Granada.
