The Generalitat de Catalunya suffers a cyber attack on its computer systems

The information systems of the Generalitat de Catalunya have suffered a cyber attack this Friday. This has been communicated by the Center for Telecommunications and Information Technologies, according to the agency ACN. The attack began on Friday afternoon, sources from the Vice Presidency of the Government have explained. The Catalan Cybersecurity Agency has activated response measures.

The attack affects both the communications hub of the Generalitat and the applications that depend on it.

The vice president, Jordi Puigneró, has reported that it is “a denial of service cyberattack four times more powerful than the historical cyberattack of 9-N 2014.”
