The Government analyzes measures to contain the prices of the textile industry

Meanwhile, during the meeting, lines of actions were reviewed to ensure that these balances are guaranteed in 2022 in the context of policies for the development of the textile sector.

The Undersecretary of Regional and Sector Programming of the Ministry of Economy, Agustín Lódola, also participated in the meeting.

According to the latest report prepared by the Fundación Pro Tejer on the textile sector, “between 50 and 60% of the inputs are imported”, as well as “70% of these materials are in dollars”, so the jumps in devaluation they generate a climate of uncertainty when generating new investments. To this are added the freight costs for the importation of raw materials or other items necessary for production, where a freight that in 2019 was worth $ 1,800, today is around $ 12,000.
