While the next Grand Theft Auto 6 is years away, it seems that Rockstar Games plans to revive some of its classics Grand Theft Auto in form of remakes and for this same year: according to a report from Kotaku, Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City Y Grand Theft Auto San Andreas They will arrive this year in a remastered format.
According to internal sources and close to the projects, these three games will be implemented on the Unreal Engine 5 engine and will visually receive some visual refreshments, but keeping some elements of the titles that were first seen on PlayStation 2.
For now, there are not many details that are handled, but the sources reveal that there will be some changes in the graphical interface of the games and that the idea is that its playability remains as faithful as possible to that of the originals.
And this point is important because those who played the PlayStation 2 trilogy will remember that these were titles with a more arcade style and less realistic what came next with GTA IV Y GTA V. In that sense, it seems logical that Rockstar does not want to turn these games into a mirror of what they were that came later, but rather to keep alive the most unbridled spirit of the originals.
Regarding possible platforms, the report mentions that these three games should reach PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S and Nintendo Switch. This means that it will be the first time that this trilogy appears on a Nintendo console; in the 2000s, both GTA 3 What Vice city Y San Andreas they omitted the then current Nintendo GameCube.
And the release date? The rumor suggests that the games could see the light towards the end of October or beginning of November and if all this were true, that implies that an official announcement would have to appear soon.
Incidentally, if these games exist then Rockstar will do its best to remove the recent remastered version ofVice city, just as it has been doing with other mods that fans have created in the past.
