The IBEX 35 yields to inflation but saves 9,000 points

The IBEX 35 saved 9,000 points after losing 0.6 percent in a transition session while waiting to know the inflation data in the USA.

The bad behavior of the great values, with Inditex in the lead, it condemned the main Spanish indicator to losses.

Investors were cautious in the last session in light of the forecasts that suggest that the consumer price index (CPI) advanced in October at the highest rate of acceleration in the last three decades, just after the Federal Reserve confirmed the start of tapering .

The IBEX marked 9,070 integers at the close, but led the losses of the European stock markets and was the index that fell the most in the Old Continent. The German DAX had a slight setback in the session like the London Stock Exchange, while the Paris closed in green.

Siemens Gamesa shoots up

Wind turbine maker Siemens Gamesa soared nearly 9 percent recording the biggest rise in the IBEX 35 despite its results leaving questions in the market.

Arcelormittal, which will release its results this Thursday, and Fluidra they lagged behind with a revaluation of more than 2 percent.

The actions of Solaria, in the midst of a bearish attack, gained 1.8 percent while Amadeus added more than 1 percent, thus linking the best stock market streak of the last three years for the tourist reservations group.

Pharmamar, Cellnex y CIE Automotive they also appreciated by around 1 percent.

Meliá, red lantern after signs of recovery

As for losses, the hotel company Meliá it remained as the red lantern of the day. Its shares fell 2.6 percent despite the fact that last Thursday it released its quarterly results, which showed the first signs of recovery after the impact of the pandemic.

A shortlist of listed companies lost more than 2 percent: Inditex, the IBEX that will later present its results -in mid-December-; Endesa, which fell again after the volatility shown in the last week; and the Socimi Merlin Properties, which will also render its accounts later this week.

Viscofan and Caixabank 1.8 and 1.5 percent were left respectively. Banco Santander dropped 1.40 percent. Falls also in other energy sources such as Naturgy, Iberdrola or Enagás, whose losses exceeded 1 percent.
