The incidence drops again to 735 cases and Health notifies 22,194 new infections

The incidence drops another 50 points, to 735.19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. It continues at ‘very high’ risk levels, according to the Health criteria, but the curve shows a downward trend with fewer and fewer daily infections. At the beginning of this month of February, the incidence rate stood at 2,694 cases, and now, three weeks later, that figure has dropped 2,000 points. Catalonia has not updated new cases this Tuesday.

Only two autonomous communities now register incidence rates above 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: Galicia, with 1,194 cases, and Murcia, with 1,040. The regions that are at the bottom are Andalusia, with 419 cases; Castilla-La Mancha, with 500 points; and Madrid, which registers 524 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Daily infections drop to a minimum since December 10 of 30,0000 cases in one day, specifically the latest Health update adds 22,194 new infections. In total, since the start of the pandemic, 10,880,194 positives have been added in Spain. However, it should be noted that Catalonia has not updated new cases.

The group of 60 to 79 years already registers an incidence with ‘high’ range levels, below 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Only one age stratum, that of people aged 12 to 19, reported an incidence of over a thousand cases, with 1,074 points.

Hospital pressure continues to decline. The percentage of bed occupancy in hospitals decreases, as well as in ICUs, which remain at ‘medium’ range levels, according to Health criteria.

Regarding the deceased, 173 new deaths have been registered, although the Ministry has been pointing out in its report for days that these daily figures are not comparable with each other due to the delay in previous days of some autonomous communities, which now leads to gathering data from several days. Spain is already heading towards 100,000 deaths from COVID-19 since the coronavirus entered the country, and this Tuesday that figure stands at 98,635 deaths.
