The incidence in people over 60 years of age falls 70 points and Health registers 45,919 infections since Tuesday

The incidence of the coronavirus in those over 60 years of age has fallen more than 70 points since Tuesday and falls below the barrier of 800 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, with 728.22 cases, which is the lowest figure since the end of April.

The Ministry of Health has registered 45,919 new infections, figures lower than those registered by Health last week. Precisely the Ministry report last Friday pointed to 58,839 new infections. The total of positives already adds up to 12,326,264 since the infections began to be counted.

Although the incidence continues at figures above 700 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, these infections do not translate into an increase in hospital pressure, as pointed out by the head of Health, Carolina Darias. Health has recorded 236 deaths from coronavirus, while on Tuesday the report reported 158 deaths, which was the lowest number recorded since the Ministry of Health changed the COVID case notification system. In total, since the start of the pandemic in Spain, 106,341 deaths from the disease have been registered.

Regarding vaccination against COVID-19, 80.2% of those over 40 years of age have a booster dose, while 54.6% of children between 5 and 12 years of age have at least one anti-COVID dose. .
