The intense heat keeps 11 autonomous communities on alert

Eleven communities remain on alert this Monday due to the suffocating heat, with greater intensity in Andalusia and in the Region of Murcia, where there is a red warning (extreme risk) for values ​​that will range between 40 and 45 degrees, reports the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

Andalusia maintains the red level in the province of Seville, for values ​​up to 44 degrees in the Sevillian countryside, and in Huelva, for maximums of 42 degrees on the coast; the rest of the community continues on orange alert (important risk) and will leave highs that will range between 39 and 43 degrees.

The Region of Murcia, also in red, will reach up to 45 degrees in areas of the Vega del Segura, and between 40 and 43 degrees in the Altiplano, areas of the northwest, Valle del Guadalentín, Lorca and Águilas.

The Aemet warns that in both communities with a red level, very high minimum temperatures are expected, which could range between 25 and 29 degrees.

In Castilla-La Mancha, only the province of Albacete continues with an orange warning for values ​​of up to 39 degrees in the Albacete region, Hellín, Alcaráz, Almansa and Segura; in the rest of the provinces there is a yellow warning for records between 34 and 38 degrees.

The Canary archipelago has activated the orange warning on the island of Gran Canaria, where 38 degrees are forecast in large areas to the east, south and west, and on summits, with greater intensity in the middle and high areas.

Intense heat also in the Mediterranean

In Mediterranean communities, the provinces of Lleida and Tarragona (Catalonia) have an orange level in the Central Depression and in the Tarragona pre-coastal, with values ​​of 39 degrees, while in the Valencian Community the provinces of Valencia and Castellón continue to be on orange alert by highs between 39 and 41 degrees, records that may occasionally rise to 44 degrees.

In the Balearic Islands, only Mallorca remains at the orange level due to records of 40 degrees in the interior, north and northeast of the island.

The communities of Aragón, Castilla y León, the Community of Madrid and Extremadura have a yellow alert (risk) due to temperatures between 34 and 39 degrees.

The Aemet warns that with the red alert the risk is extreme with unusual meteorological phenomena of exceptional intensity and with a very high level of risk for the population, while with the orange level there is significant risk in unusual meteorological phenomena and with danger for usual activities.
