The judge in the Villarejo case imputes the president of Iberdrola for the contracts with the commissioner

The judge in the Villarejo case, Manuel Garcia-Castellón, has summoned the president of Iberdrola, Ignacio Sánchez Galán, as investigated, within the framework of the separate piece that investigates the contracts of the electricity company with the commissioner when he was still working as a public official. García-Castellón has also cited three company executives as investigated: Fernando Becker, Francisco Martínez Córcoles and Rafael Orbegozo. The four are being investigated for a continuing crime of active bribery, a crime against privacy and falsification of a commercial document.

In his order, the judge accepts the request made by the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office and explains that at this moment of the investigation and with the procedures that have already been carried out, it is pertinent, given the evidence presented, to listen to the Chairman of Iberdrola and the other three executives at the understand that there are incidentally enough elements of judgment to be able to connect them with the facts that are investigated in this piece.
