Private Division, a publishing imprint of Take-Two Interactive Software, has just announced that it has a new game from The Lord of the rings on my way. The new title is being worked on with partner Weta Workshop. It’s the latest in a series of Lord of the Rings games announced and on the way this year.

We know that the new title will be set in Middle-earth, but that’s it for now. However, fans can rest assured that this may be one of the most accurate games released under the franchise name to date thanks to Weta Workshop, who are known for their on-screen work on the Lord of the Rings film trilogy. the Rings, along with other movies like Avatar by James Cameron and dunes by Denis Villeneuve. The company recently established an interactive games division and is using it to bring this new partnership with Private Division to life.
«The property intellectual of The Lord of the Rings is the home of so many remarkable stories,” said Michael Worosz, Take-Two Interactive’s chief strategy officer and head of the Private Division. “No entity is better equipped than the team at Weta Workshop to create a distinctive new gaming experience in Middle-earth.”
While the title does not have a set release date, Private Division states in a press release email that it expects it to release during Take-Two’s 2024 fiscal year.
Another Lord of the Rings game is expected, Lord of the Rings: Gollum, is released at the end of this year or early next year. The game was originally scheduled to release on September 1, but was pushed back to “meet player expectations«.
