The Mandalorian, the most successful series that the Disney Plus platform has released, already has a possible date to return to streaming.
According to a report from TVLine, Disney’s intention is that the Star Wars fiction returns before the end of this year. In fact, the third season of the series could be released in December 2022.
“It’s a safe bet that it will be released this year, probably around Christmas Day,” the article states.
While Mando fans may feel like they still have a long time to wait to meet Pedro Pascal’s character again, the company’s gamble makes sense.
If the forecast is true, Star Wars fans will be able to enjoy The Book of Boba Fett, whose chapters are still being released on the platform, and the Obi-Wan Kenobi series that, according to first reports, could arrive on May 4 to streaming, precisely for Star Wars Day.
In addition, the date proposed by Disney corresponds to what happened in previous years. In fact, the first season of The Mandalorian was released on November 12, 2019 and the second hit the screen in October 2020.
The fiction created by Jon Favreau is the first real action series in the Star Wars universe. Its premiere was well received by fans, since it recovers an important part of the original atmosphere of the franchise, which had been lost in the last films of the saga.
If Disney manages to stick to its schedule, 2022 could be one of the best years for Star Wars lovers.
