The mythical ‘GTA: San Andreas’ is back, this time as a virtual reality game that is already in development

Grand Thef Auto: San Andreas‘, Rockstar’s mythical open-world game, is back. And not back in that recently announced remasterbut in the form of a virtual reality game that Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, confirmed today during Facebook Connect.

The truth is that beyond the words of Zuckerberg, not much more information. Quoting the founder of Facebook:

“I am pleased to announce that the Rockstar Games classic ‘Grand Theft Auto San Andreas’ is in development for the [Oculus] Quest [2]. This new version of what I believe is one of the best games ever will offer players an entirely new way to experience this iconic open world in virtual reality. “

From the Oculus blogFor their part, they affirm that with this game we will have “a new perspective of Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas while you experience (again or for the first time) one of the most iconic open worlds of games”. According to Oculus, this project it has been “many years” in gestation, but for now they have not shown more.

As for GTA San Andreas, it is one of the most popular and sold games in the franchise, with about 27.5 million units sold. The only title in the franchise that surpasses it is ‘GTA V’, which already accumulates more than 145 million copies.
