The National Court has sent to prison four Algerian citizens accused of forming a jihadist cell based in the city of Barcelona. One of the detainees is considered the leader of the cell that would have captured the other four. The operation has been carried out by agents of the General Information Commission and is related to another operation carried out last January.
Judge Joaquín Gadea, reinforcement magistrate of the Examining Court number 6, has issued prison for the crimes of integration / collaboration with a terrorist organization, indoctrination and possession of weapons, legal sources report. The cell leader had already been in prison in Algeria.
Three of the arrests have taken place in Barcelona and another in the Center for Social Integration in Madrid, although the one arrested here also habitually resided in the Catalan capital. The fifth detainee was already in prison at the time of his arrest, the same sources specify. Other sources of the investigation rule out that the detainees were planning an attack.
