The Ministry of Health has registered 9,554 new cases of coronavirus, a figure somewhat higher than the 9,192 infections reported on Friday of the previous week. Thus, the total number of people who have been infected so far in the pandemic amounts to 13,342,530. By communities, Castilla-La Mancha is by far the one with the most cases (2,324), followed by Catalonia (1,274), the Valencian Community (1,165) and Castilla y León (867).
Despite the slight increase in new infections, the latest report from the ministry led by Carolina Darias reflects that the incidence in people over 60 years of age has decreased, from 161.99 cases per 100,000 inhabitants on Friday to 153.05 on Tuesday.

Regarding the deaths registered in the last seven days, they stand at 97, a figure lower than the 141 of last week.
The total number of deaths during the pandemic rises to 112,600.
As for hospital pressure, those admitted with coronavirus stand at 3,421 this August 30, a figure slightly lower than the 3,510 registered on Friday.
In the ICU there are 229 patients and 2.93% bed occupancy, which also translates into a drop compared to a week ago, where it stood at 3.06%.
