The Police detain three young people between 20 and 25 years old as alleged perpetrators of Samuel’s murder

The National Police has confirmed the arrest of three people between 20 and 25 years old, residents of A Coruña, as alleged perpetrators of the murder of Samuel Luiz at dawn last Saturday. These are the first arrests related to the event, although the police do not rule out other arrests in the coming hours, after taking statements from 15 people.

The operation took place three days after the events and the day after thousands of people filled the squares of more than 70 Galician towns and the main Spanish cities shouting “justice for Samuel” and against homophobia. The Government delegate in Galicia had requested time for the investigation and assured that “no hypothesis” was ruled out, in reference to the homophobic motive for the aggression.
