The PP deputies begin to choose sides in the war between Casado and Ayuso

The opening of the Popular Party channel as a result of the very harsh exchange of accusations between the leadership of Pablo Casado and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, for the alleged corruption of the latter and the alleged espionage launched by Genoa 13 against the Madrid leader, has forced the different positions of the party to position themselves between one side or the other in a context of total division in the main opposition force.

The barons have evidenced this rupture although, for the most part, they have already positioned themselves in favor of the maximum national leader of their party. But in the last hours the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alberto Núñez Feijóo has defended Ayuso, the Andalusian Juan Manuel Moreno Bonilla has limited himself to asking for “unity” and the acting president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has demanded that the “truth” prevail.

The president of the Region of Murcia maintains an ambiguous position. Fernando López Miras is “convinced of the honorability” of Ayuso but also believes that the national leadership has acted “correctly”. And the leaders of the PP in the Valencian Community, Aragón and Asturias position themselves with Casado’s theses.

In the case of the Popular Parliamentary Group in Congress, the majority of the deputies, 49 out of 88, have shown their support for the leader of the popular group on social networks, and only two, Cayetana Álvarez de Toledo and Pilar Marcos, opt for Ayuso, while the rest have not yet publicly commented.
