The next project of the famous Planet of the Apes franchise already has its protagonist, since the specialized site dead line reported that Owen Teague has been tapped to play the lead primate in the latest film in the iconic franchise.
Wes Ball is taking over directing duties on the film, which he expects to begin production before the end of the year.
Teague has excelled in Stephen King’s adaptation of Item, where he played one of the thugs who terrorized the losers club. He would follow up with another King adaptation with the Paramount + limited series TheStand. Upcoming credits include the thriller from Netflix Reptile and the A24 film Beth & Don, as well as an appearance in Black Mirror.
It should be remembered that Andy Serkis was Cesar in the 2011 remake of Planet of the Apes.
