The Samsung W22 5G is a foldable phone for China only | Digital Trends Spanish

Samsung has launched a new folding phone, but this time exclusively for China: the Samsung W22 5G, which is based on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and is part of the W series of phones that the South Korean company produces especially for the Asian country.

The W22 5G has a 7.6-inch AMOLED main screen and a 6.2-inch secondary screen on the outside. The processor is a Snapdragon 888, although the RAM memory increases compared to the western version to reach 16 GB in total. The internal storage is 512 GB and as the name implies, it has support for 5G networks.

The novelties of the W22, in addition to the RAM, are mainly aesthetics. The phone has several gold finishes and that includes the edge of the S-Pen that comes in the box.

And Samsung’s own interface is also modified, with special elements in the digital clock that are related to a theme called Heart of the world (“Heart of the world”, in Spanish) on which the entire external design of the equipment is based.

It seems that Samsung wants to position the W22 in China as a truly luxury phone. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is an expensive phone (it costs around $ 1,900), but its Chinese version will be even more so, since the W22 5G will sell for about $ 2,600, equivalent to 16,999 yuan.

It should be noted that this phone, because it is sold only in China, does not have access to services or the Google store, although for Samsung that is not a problem thanks to its own store that has most of the important applications.
