The Senate of Haiti postpones the inauguration of Joseph Lambert as interim president

The Senate of Haiti has postponed ‘sine die’ the inauguration of Joseph Lambart as interim president following the assassination of Jovenel Moise on Wednesday.

This Saturday the vote was going to take place, however they have not been presented all the senators in the Chamber, so the session to appoint Lambert has not finally taken place, according to the media ‘Haiti 24’.

“The senators have decided to postpone the inauguration scheduled for this afternoon. Everyone wants to be present to actively participate in the nomination. There is an urgent need for rebuild hope in our country ”, Lambert has published on his social networks.

Eight of the ten members of the Senate of the Republic have voted this week a resolution that consecrates Lambert as interim president after the assassination of President Moise.
