A while ago, Toei Animation announced that the popular anime franchise Slam Dunk would have a new movie.

However, it was a long time before fiction fans could hear news about this project.

Now, the studio has revealed that the film will be released in late 2022. It has also been reported that Takehiko Inoue, creator of the original manga, will be in charge of this project.

It should be remembered that the manga of Slam dunk it was published between the years 1990 and 1996, adding a total of 31 volumes and a complete history.

For its part, the original anime series aired between 1993 and 1996 in Japan. However, this work was incomplete and, after 101 chapters, the series did not incorporate a closing or final part, which would revolve around a basketball tournament in which the characters would participate.

Now, fans can finally see on screen how this story ends. For now it is unknown if the new bet will return to the final events that were shown in the anime, or will offer a new look at history.
