The Snow White remake might not have dwarfs | Digital Trends Spanish

The remake from the Disney Snow White movie might not have seven dwarfs. In fact, she would not have any, so the famous Disney princess would now be accompanied by some magical creatures. The reason? political correctness embodied in actor Peter Dinklage, famous for his role as the cunning Tyrion Lannister in game of Thrones.

The controversy arose last January 24, when Dinklage, who has dwarfism, said in the WTF podcast with Marc Maron that Disney was rather hypocritical in putting a Latina actress in the leading role of Snow White (the role will be played by actress Rachel Zegler, of Colombian descent), but keeping the story of seven dwarfs who live in a cave.

“They think they are doing the right thing, but again they tell an outdated story […] a fucking retrograde story about seven dwarfs living together in a cave,” Dinklage shot.

After the controversy, which reached social networks and soon escalated to Disney, Mickey Mouse’s house issued a statement in which he said that the remake You will avoid replicating stereotypes from the past.

“We are going to approach these seven characters differently, and for them we are consulting with members of the dwarfism community,” Disney said in a statement published by the media. The Hollywood Reporter.

The latest twist to the story is told by the portal The Warp, who claims to have had access to documents linked to the casting of the film and that allude to “magical creatures”. Could it be that instead of dwarfs, we just see some computer animated character?
