Disney and Fox have released the first trailer Home Sweet Home Alone, a new edition of the 90s classic that in some places became known as My poor angel and that already lets see references to the original tape.
The first thing to note is the most obvious: the script revolves around a child who is left home alone by mistake, while his parents believe that he is on board the plane that takes them on vacation. In this edition, the vacation spot will be the city of Tokyo, Japan.
The protagonist of this new version will be played by Archie Yates and, as in the classic -and the most forgettable ones that came later-, he will have to face a couple of thieves who want to enter the house to steal it. The novelty here is that the thieves are a married couple played by Ellie Kemper and Rob Delaney, which apparently is the first time they have committed a crime.
In the trailer you can see some of the accidents that thieves will suffer, which although they are not exactly the same as the first Home Alone, they manage to seem as or even more painful than those.
Now, an important detail is in the police officer that appears on the screen. The last name McCallister is revealed in his suit and the actor who plays him is Devin Ratray, known for his role as Buzz McCallister -the older brother- in the original film.
Home Sweet Home Alone It will be exclusive to Disney Plus and its premiere will be on November 12, 2021. And of course, the comparisons are going to be very hateful, although if Macaulay Culkin’s cameo is correct, the criticism may not be so harsh.
