The Valencia Court condemns a young man who sexually abused his underage girlfriend to ten years in prison

The Fifth Section of the Provincial Court of Valencia has sentenced a young man who had sexual relations with his 13-year-old girlfriend to ten years in prison for a continuous crime of sexual abuse of a minor, despite the girl’s refusal. The prisoner may not approach within 300 meters of the victim or communicate with her for ten years. In addition, you must compensate her with 6,000 euros for the moral damages she suffered as a result of the abuses.

The condemned man, who was 20 years old when the events occurred, began a friendship relationship with the minor during the summer of 2019, which later became a dating relationship.

According to the sentence, the convicted person had an interest in maintaining relations with the minor “although she refused because she said she was not ready.”

Despite this, in February 2020, while they were at the home of a friend of the girl, the prisoner undressed her and had sex with her. Shortly afterwards there was another sexual encounter at the home of the accused himself in which he acted in a similar way to the first time.

After suffering these abuses, after ending their relationship, the victim was in a state of shock and needed psychological treatment. The sentence is not final and can be appealed before the Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).
