José María Barrio Gil-Fournier is related to García-Gallardo on his father’s side. Although he has deleted his profile on LinkedIn, there is a trace of his professional activity: until recently he was director of Promotion and representative in Valladolid of the construction company Reyal Urbis, the largest defaulter of the Treasury, which is currently auctioning assets .

Barrio Gil-Fournier was summoned to testify as a defendant in a Valladolid court in 2013 for an alleged crime against the environment, since the construction company bought an old corrugated iron factory and it contained asbestos. The investigation was closed when the instructor understood that Reyal Urbis bought it thinking that it had already been decontaminated by the previous owner, and due to the lack of diligence of the competent administration.
