The headquarters of the Xunta in Santiago will host, on May 11, an auction of 846.5 grams of pure gold shot. The Autonomous Administration acquired the metal through an inheritance for which a will was never drawn up nor were relatives who claimed the property located.
The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. on May 11 in Assembly Hall 2 in San Caetano, at a table chaired by the Xunta’s General Technical and Heritage Secretary or the person he delegates, with the assistance of a lawyer from the legal advice, a representative of the general intervention and an official who will act as secretary.
It is about 846.5 grams of pure gold granules with a law of 999/99 thousandths, which is equivalent to the measure of 24 carats. Its disposal was agreed by an order from the Ministry of Facenda on February 17, 2021. The price of gold will be that of the official listing market at 10:30 a.m. on the day of the auction, as stated in the specifications. conditions, and as it appears in the Official Gazette of Galicia (DOG) this Tuesday. The kilo of gold of these characteristics fluctuates in prices that oscillate around 55,000 euros.
The auction includes that the first tender will amount to 100 percent of the price, while the second will be 85 percent and the third, 70 percent of the price. In order to participate in the act, it will be “essential” to consign 20 percent of the indicated amount or prove that this amount was deposited in the General Treasury of the Xunta.
To participate in person in the auction, the Government of Feijóo requires that the guarantee must be presented in cash or bank check in favor of the General Secretariat of Technology and Heritage on the day of the auction. Offers must be made in advance (up to 20 days after publication in the DOG) and the three auctions may be held on the same day, if applicable. Offers that do not reach the minimum will be inadmissible and they will be accepted on the spot gradually, starting from the highest.
The person who acquires the gold must assume the costs originated by the adjudication and formalization of the public deed of sale, while the expenses and taxes derived from the transmission are subject to the law (with the exemptions in force.
