These Canon cameras become a Transformer | Digital Trends Spanish

You probably didn’t know that you canon camera EOS R5 could become Optimus Prime of the transformers. Well, technically you can’t cross-dress that easily, but in Japan they’re making it happen.

This future was discovered by TFormers and it’s becoming a reality next year thanks to a collaboration between Takara Tomy (the Japanese company behind Transformers toys) and Canon.

The collaboration has resulted in a pair of Transformers figures that can fold into surprisingly realistic-looking Canon mirrorless cameras. It’s worth noting that for their prices of ¥19,800 (about $147), they are non-functional replicas that are only 80 percent of the actual size of the camera.

A statuette is based on Optimus Primewhile the other is Decepticon Refraktor.

Both Transformers are scheduled to launch in Japan next year on February 25, and TFW2005 reports that the pre-orders are open now through September 28. It’s unclear if they’ll see a global release.
