They assassinate Ana Luisa Garduño, who demanded justice for the femicide of her daughter Ana Karen

The Attorney General of the State of Morelos confirmed the murder of the activist Ana Luisa Garduno Juarez at the Apolo XI bar on Thursday night, in the municipality of Temixco, presumably in a fight recorded inside the establishment, but other indications point to an alleged direct attack.

Initial reports indicate that around 11:00 p.m., when the altercation was recorded in said establishment that was his property, the alleged attacker fled from the place, which is near the town hall of this municipality, without being reached.

Ana Luis Garduño, 51, became an activist in 2012, after the femicide of her daughter Ana Karen Huicochea, who was murdered by her boyfriend; he has not been arrested. Garduño joined the group of families searching for missing persons with his civil organization ‘Ana Karen Vive’.


The photograph of her daughter was one of the first images that were placed in the offering for victims of violence in the state, which was placed on the door of the Morelos government headquarters, since the assassination of Juan Francisco Sicilia Ortega, on 28 March 2011.

A year after that, Ana Luisa placed the image of her 17-year-old daughter Ana Karen, who died at the hands of her boyfriend, Eduardo Villalobos Villanueva, then 23 years old, in the Burgos subdivision, in December 2012. Since then the mother He has led several protests.

So far, the FGE has not reported whether the activist femicide, was it a collateral event derived from the alleged fight or was it a direct attack.

Ana Luisa Garduño was also a substitute candidate for deputy for the PRD, in the 53rd legislature of the State Congress, with legislator Silvia Irra.


Government of Morelos condemns the femicide of Ana Luisa Garduño

After the femicide of Ana Luisa Garduño Juárez, the Government of Morelos condemned the “cunning and cowardly” murder and asked the State Attorney General’s Office to exhaust “all lines of investigation to clarify these unfortunate events,” the authority reported in a statement.

In turn, the local Prosecutor’s Office explained that after receiving the report of the activist’s murder, the investigation protocols with a gender perspective were activated, in which the Public Ministry of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for the Investigation and Prosecution of the Crime of Femicide and Criminal Investigation Agents.

The search for those responsible for the feminicide of the activist Ana Luisa Garduño, who lost her life without stopping her daughter’s feminicide, almost 10 years after her murder, has already begun.

In turn, the governor of Morelos, Cuauhtémoc Blanco, recognized the activism of Ana Luisa Garduño and her participation in the search for disappeared persons, for which he stated that there will be justice in this case.
